2nd Doppelraab in Turkey

Hello , my name is Ozgur and I live in Turkey .. I am a UAV Test Pilot of Turkish Aerospace Industries..
Mr.Cem Zirh is close friend of mine and after our first retroplane meeting in Bursa I also decide to build Doppi too.

After I got the plan & DXF from Vincent , I prepare all materials..

During laser cut process , we made some wrong directional cut of plywood in some parts..





I have cut these parts classical way too..

It is a good idea to put wet cotton for min.1 hour to make much more flexibble hard wood .. Highly recomended

As I remember almost 17-18 years ago I built these kind of construction.. For a looong years I fly ARF models (planes etc.)
It is good the see that I still remember how tho make scratch build models..

During Doppi construction , I stop all other projects..

Fusalage without elevator & rudder now 353 grams.. Not soo bad I guess..

What is this glider blue and white?
For the weight, don't worry, there are Doppi from 2.5 to 3.5kg we don't see difference in flight

He paint gauge panel with airbrush mat black colour ..

Ok , time to start wing

Main spar 10x5 mm spruce can be found here only 1 m. long , for that reason I need to make extension

45 degree cut is best angle for max. strength..





I use 30 min. epoxy for this part..
