Hallo zusammen,
Sorry everyone for writing in English ( I have to learn German! )
Allso, i didint found where i could post my message, so i thought it would be the best place.
I know, that modellers know everything So i have a big quostion to all of you.
In 1940, when USSR occupied Lithuania for the first time, all planes and gliders from Kaunas were taken to Aukstagirs (near Vilnius) where they were kept till the German occupation in 1941. It is said, that Germans took all German type gliders, and left all other there.
So, i am looking or any, any even small information about these gliders. Few years ago, we findout that in Denmark, Mu-13d LY-KEVA is being restored! It was one of the mising gliders...
So i think that these gliders might be seen in Germany:
Go-3 ''Minimoa'' LY-Biržietis

From 1:24 to 1:45
Grunau Baby IIa Ly-Nida
RRG "Falke" Ly-Žaibas
RRG "Falke" LY-Sakalas
and Go-4 Govier
There might be more gliders, we are not shure about it ( all other Lithuanian gliders left in Aukstagiris were destroyed by the soviets )
So i think you will understand how much these gliders ment to us. Thank you very much, and i am looking forvard hearing from you :)

Hello,
A quick search on Google gave me this website : http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=6943.0
LY-RUTA is a BRO-4 - 1937, Ruta (Ruth) shoulder gull-wing acrobatic glider (from BRO - or BrO - for BRonius Oskinis). But it is quite difficult to find something else !
You're right, this sailplane looks pretty nice !

Hello,
Yes the small glider is Bro-4 "Rūta" Registration (LY-RUTA)
Its dificult with the info in English and other languoges, most info is in Lithuanian. Small article about Bro-4 http://www.vgc.lt/page.php?23
More pictures (Bro-4 Bro-5 ) Here http://picasaweb.google.lt/vgclithuania/BOskinioRutos#
Bro-4 "Rūta" was modified to Bro-5 "Rūta" with big changes ( wing, half fuselage)
Few months ago, i had posted my Bro-5 models making here http://www.retroplane.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2742
And wrote something about it:
In 1937, Lithuanian designer, Bronius Oskinis decided to built a glider for long and fast towing, with opportunity to do aerobatics. In five months Designer with some help finished Bro-4. Once it was complete, only few test flights was made and it went straight to Elmyra, to the international competition (together with Minimoe built in Lithuania) There it shoud aerobatics. When it came back, Oskinis decided to improve "Ruta". Then he started designing new wing, and made some modifications for the fuselage, it was made longer ( Bro-4 leangth was 4,9m). So new Bro-5 "Ruta-2" was made in 1938. It was the best Oskinis work. It did aerobatics realy well, and also it flew cross-country too. She participated in few competitions. Unfortunately the war destroyed "Ruta"
Technical data of Bro-5 "Ruta":
Wing span- 11m
Wing area- 12 m2
Lenght- 5,6 m
aspect ratio- 10
Airfoil- Clark-Y and M-12
Empty weight- 130 kg
Flying weight- 220 kg
Wing Laod- 23.7 kg/m2
Glide ratio 21,5 at 74 km/h
Min sink 0,92 at 66 km/h
G limits- 10 -7,5
Here you can find more info about Lithunian gliders (sorry in Lithunian, but try using google translate) http://www.vgc.lt/page.php?7
Hope it helpt
So dose eny one heard something about mising gliders?
