CVV1 Pinguino

Hi All,

after having concluded my CVV4 Pellicano, I start the project of a new glider, the CVV 1 Pinguino an Italian 15m sailplane designed in 1937 by Gildo Preti and Maurizio Garbell as first project of Royal Polytechnic of Milano. Is a glider similar to the German Rhoensperber. I decide for 3.75scale, now I have concluded the project.

I would like to wish to all friends of Retroplane a happy new year

Looks really a bit like a Rhönsperber-copy from Italia (1937) [humm]

Hi All,

The building of Pinguino is now started with the cutting of various pieces of fuselage. Now I have made a dry test in order to verify the correctness of my project, it seems that the design is ok.

Vincent, Walter regarding Polsa I hope too to be present but I have to verify the engagement with my job that sometimes doesn't leave me free also the weekend, but I hope.

Hi All,

Yesterday I have tested in flight my Pinguino. I confirm that the model fly very well, the final weight with battery electric motor and ballast is 5800g . To define the exact CG position I have carried out some simulation with XLRF5 programs and I can confirm that with the CG position as indicated by XLRF5 the model flies perfectly, this program is very useful to set the CG position. The wing profile MS535 works very well with no problem with stall at low speed.
