Yes. it took some changes, but now it looks right
The wings will be covered with plywood just till the rear spar

as you can see on this photo. It is also on the drawings.

Bonjour a tous,
Moving on to the wing. Given the choice of airfoil and the fact that the plywood is not varnished, I decided to sheet the top and bottom separately. First the bottom: I planed and sanded the LE into shape and repaired the vulnerable ribs here and there. To provide support for the glue clamps, I glued a 2x2 mm slat to the front of the ply .

I was now able to clamp the plywood securely to the LE and the rest with weights and clamps at the rear spars .



About the holes in the webbing; in hindsight, it would have been better to place the Bowden cable behind the main spar in its entirety and to turn the bellcrank around !
Where the aileron control is passing the webbing, I widened the spar, the webbing is complete,, not perfect, but acceptable,
I glued plywood webbing also to the rear spar and on both sides of the main spar..


Now it was time for the top sheeting. This was done in the same way as the bottom sheeting. The building supports at the rear of the ribs, together with weights, ensured that the wing was nice and flat.

After drying, the wing is very stiff and torsion-resistant. The front edge is nice and straight and the sheeting fits the ribs well .


Same planing and sanding to do!

I go on with the Hjordis,
After the wing was sheeted, it feels pleasantly sturdy and very torsionally stiff. Now the ailerons. To get them torsionally stiff enough, I wanted to make a small D box from the round nose, together with the beams and webbing. First I bent a strip of 0.6 plywood around something 6mm round. Slowly, constantly pouring boiling water over, then it will work.

with clamps and let it dry for a day. Then I was able to clamp this plywood "gutter" around the beam of the aileron, between 10 x 10mm slats to keep it straight. Sounds complicated, but it is not.


Then I could run cyano in it

To keep it simple, the lengths of these gutter can’t be too long, The second "gutter" joined with an scarfed joint. After hardening I cut away the excess plywood

Back to the wing itself, the capstrips on the rear of the ribs. To get a good transfer of the capstrip to the sheeting I glued short pieces of 1 X 1mm on the joint (the glue was still wet)

Almost finished



One wing now weighs 506 grams.

C'est très léger rather rigid ?
 Pourvu que ça vole, roule, flotte ! normalement j'ai tout bien fait pour…

Yes it feels just rigid enough. Calcullongeron says it could withstand 20G. That should be enough!
